Description

The Food Centre is seeking an individual with strong communication and organizational skills to work in a diversified food industry setting.  The individual will assist companies in the agri-food industry through the development and implementation of new food safety and quality programs.  Preference will be given to individuals with a background in food safety programming, regulatory framework and quality assurance.  This is a full-time position with occasional travel required.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement food safety and quality assurance programs for food manufacturers.  These may include HACCP, BRC, SQF, FSSC 2200, etc.
Responding to client inquiries regarding food safety programming, training and regulatory issues.
Ability to grasp and educate food safety audit criteria, food safety certification standards, and food safety principles based on client needs.
Provide appropriate food safety consultation/education services to clients regarding implementation of food safety programs and preparation of third party audits.
Provide direction and written advice to clients.

Qualifications:
Background in Food Science, Microbiology or other relevant combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in implementation of HACCP / Food Safety Programs.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Training and experience in GFSI programs.
Experience in food safety audits.
Valid drivers license.
Ability to train and educate clients.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude, create and maintain effective working relationships.
