Description

Reporting to the Project Manager, Design-Build, the Project Engineer is responsible for underground and overhead distribution design-build projects at our Regina, SK office.

Responsibilities:
Complete designs for electrical underground facilities for new residential subdivisions.
Conduct design reviews, drawing reviews, and submission reviews.
Design underground and overhead electrical distribution systems (4kV  25kV systems).
Perform necessary electrical design calculations.
Coordinate with customers, and municipal and regulatory authorities.
Conduct site checks, assessments, and inspections.
Other duties as required.

The eligible candidate:
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical preferred) degree from a recognized university and registration or eligibility to apply for EIT/ P.Eng. status with APEGS (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan).
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in their work.
Ability to learn and adapt to changing environments.
Excellent communication skills  both verbal and written.

A few qualifications that would help you succeed:
Knowledge of power distribution design standards is considered an asset.
Relevant utility industry experience with knowledge of design and drafting standards would be an asset.
Experience with PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, MS Office, and distribution design software would be considered an asset.
Previous knowledge of and experience with SaskPower and SaskEnergy design standards would be considered an asset.
