The primary responsibility of the position is to design structures, systems and processes that promote and aid the formulation, coordination, integration and implementation of the FSIN mandate with respect to the Secretariat responsibilities; determine how and when to best translate these into laws, regulations and strategies. It is the bridge between the legislative/executive arms of the organization and its members, and the public service. It ensures efficient and effective use of Secretariat human and financial resources, to ensure the Secretariat provides quality services to the organization. The position has overall responsibility for the conduct of relationships and discussions between the organization and federal and provincial governments, and with private agencies/individuals; and monitoring of developments affecting women, both regionally and nationally. The Executive Director is also responsible for the preparation and monitoring of budget proposals, yearly expenditure plans, strategic plans, reports to funding agencies; and overall supervisory responsibility for all portfolio staff, consultants and contractors.
Salary is based on an established grid and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
