Duties and responsibilities:
At Partners in Mental Health and Well-Being we aim to develop and facilitate a variety of recreational, support and social programming for youth and adults experiencing mental illness and/or struggling with their overall mental well being.  We aim to create opportunities for members of the community to develop social connections, participate in meaningful leisure activities, develop new skills, and find a support network. Social Recreation Support Workers use their skill and talents to facilitate programming in a safe and supportive environment.  

Duties include:
-  Facilitate Drop-In Centre programming, as scheduled and engage with individuals accessing services
-  Organize and support community activities which may include volunteering opportunities and connections to other service providers
-  Assist when needed with the After Hours Group including transport/set up/supervision/clean-up
-  Assist or facilitate when required support groups including virtual programming
-  Work as part of a team which includes Social Recreation Support Workers, Peer Support Workers, casual staff
-  Monitor and report any changes in client behaviour, suggestions for new programming and ways to enhance overall service delivery to the supervisor

Qualifications:
Education:
-  Diploma in a human services field
-  Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence, must have access to a reliable vehicle that can be used for work and transporting clients
-  Valid First Aid /CPR/AED Certification
Experience:
-  One year experience in related field
Skills:
-  Strong interpersonal skills and proficient computer skills
-  Open-minded, creative, effective time management, and problem solving skills
-  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
