Description

The Human Resources Generalist is a support position reporting to the Human Resources Specialist with overall accountability to the Executive Director. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing technical support, in accordance to the Cowessess Fist Nation Personnel Manual and Federal Labour Standards, in such areas as recruiting, hiring, compensation and benefits. He/she will gather information on general work history. The Human Resources Generalist shall assist in maintaining personnel and other relevant files. Other responsibilities include the preparation of incoming and outgoing mail for distribution in relation to the Human Resources Department and keeping accurate up to date and complete records and forms. The HR Generalist must perform a range of duties supporting employees, Department Directors, Executive Office and HR staff. In collaboration with the HR Specialist, the duties consist of policies training, labour relations and other HR Programs. The HR Generalist will assist in providing resolutions and consulting in the above areas to ensure a healthy and productive business operations.
-Diploma in Business Administration is a must
-Minimum 2 (two) years of work experience in Human Resources or relevant field required
-Data analysis, research and presentation skills required
-Ability to develop and implement strategies
-Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times
-Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with departments, key external stakeholders
-Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
-Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures and federal labour standards
-Must be well organized, punctual, reliable and ensure confidential matters remain confidential
-Willing to submit a Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector)
