Description

THE ROLE:
Under the supervision of the Community and Recreation Coordinator, the Youth and Aquatics Supervisor
assists manager/supervisor in planning, organizing and delivering recreation, youth, and aquatic activities. They
assist with the development/organization and delivery of registered and drop-in recreation and youth programs.
The Youth and Aquatics Supervisor recommends improvements to Base/Wing/Unit (B/W/U) aquatic, youth, and
community recreation programs based on observations, client feedback, and surveys. They assist with
developing and updating policies and procedures. The youth and Aquatics Supervisor assists with program
registrations, equipment and Community Centre bookings using applicable software

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
High school diploma AND several years of experience in aquatic programs or a related field
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
Current National Lifeguard Service Certificate (NLS) qualifications
Current Red Cross Instructor/Lifesaving Society Advanced Instructor
Current Red Cross/Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainer (Asset)
Successful completion of the Principles of Healthy Child Development and Quest 2 certification, HIGH FIVE, by
the end of probation
Experience in evaluating, planning and organizing the delivery of recreation, aquatic and youth programs
Experience in instructing aquatic training sessions
Experience in applying policies, procedures and regulations
Experience in supervising personnel
Experience in supervising the work of volunteers
Experience in office administration
Experience in drafting and distributing correspondence
Experience in reservation systems, an asset
Experience in using software for publications and promotional correspondence
