Description

Position Details:
Permanent full-time Facilities Technician - Carpenter

Assignment:
40 hours per week

Term:
To commence on a mutually determined date.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid drivers license
- Experience working in the area of building maintenance
- Preference will be given to candidates with an apprentice or journeyperson standing in a building related trade

Duties:
General Carpentry repair, maintenance and construction of 28 GSSD schools and other school division facilities.

Specific tasks may include but are not limited to:
- New construction, carpentry renovations, carpentry repair
- Interior and exterior building repairs and maintenance
- Drywall preparation and painting
- Hardware repairs and maintenance

Salary & Benefits:
- Non-Journeyperson $23.52 to $26.40 per hour;
- Journeyperson $31.34 to $34.63 per hour, both dependent upon qualifications and experience
