Opportunity
Fast Genetics is currently seeking a highly motivated person to fill a permanent full-time position as a Laboratory Technician in our flow cytometric cell sorting lab. The successful candidate is ideally based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This position will report to the Lab Manager.

This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions, but is not limited to:
Analyze and interpret basic sperm motion and morphology characteristics.
Keep accurate records on all animals as requested.
Perform specific department duties such as:
o Sorting sex-sorted semen for breeding insemination purposes.
o Responsible for technical procedures such as data entry and record-keeping and quality control.
Assist in organizing the lab and ensuring good housekeeping and biosecurity protocols are met by all staff and visitors.
Exhibit proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents and/or radiation sources in the workplace.
Work effectively to meet sperm sorting production requirements.
The Lab Technician may be assigned independent projects and may also participate in the creation of special projects.
Assist in sex-sorted semen flow cytometry equipment repairs and maintenance.
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with company-related matters.
