Facility: Buffalo Narrows Health Centre
Job Description: The Immunization Nurse functions within a team of Public Health Practitioners focused on disease prevention through immunization, across the region. These services may be provided in public health centres or public facilities such as malls, and schools.

This position reports to the Manager Primary Health Care. The incumbent is able to immunize within the scope of authorization, with minimal supervision.

The position works in collaboration with other Public Health practitioners.

The primary function of this position is to work with Public Health Nurses to provide specific immunization programs to clients of Public Health Services.
Required Qualifications

Current registration in good standing with Saskatchewan Registered Nursing Association (SRNA)
Current successful completion of a CPR Level-C Healthcare Provider within the last 12 months
Experience
The Immunization Nurse:
Provides specific immunization to eligible clients according to policy and procedure
Documents immunization accurately, legibly and according to policy and procedure
Works collaboratively with a team of Public Health Practitioners
Reports workload and immunization statistics on a weekly basis

Ability
Ability to perform the functions of the position after orientation and training for certifiable skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing process
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of immunization.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical and surgical asepsis.
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with clients of varying ages, socio-economic status, and targeted populations.
High level of accuracy in all aspects of assigned responsibility such as heal
