Wanuskewin Heritage Park is looking for a Manager, Indigenous Culinary to oversee our food service department, including restaurant and catering operations.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Craft Indigenous Culinary menu items for the restaurant and catering operations, and revise and adjust seasonally or as necessary.
- Ensure overall department development and implementation of procedures and policies related to the food service and catering department.
- Ensure adherence to Wanuskewin's and industry standards safety and employee policies, rules and regulations.
- Provide leadership on customer satisfaction and safety practices for food handling.
- Participate as a member of the leadership team by providing information and direction in the development of Wanuskewin's Strategic Plan.
- Ensure plans and strategies are aligned with emerging trends and needs of key stakeholders.
- Provide strategic input from a customer service, financial management and food safety perspective into organizational plans.
- Ensure the Hospitality Services operation plan is aligned with Wanuskewin's strategic and business plan.
- Create and maintain an operational budget, overseeing input costs and staff scheduling.
- Strategically recruit, retain and provide leadership to outstanding staff, ensuring a positive, diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Ensure proper maintenance on food service equipment and assets, and regular inventory counts are conducted.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Red Seal certification and restaurant/catering management experience is required with a minimum of 7 years experience in a management leadership role, or equivalent education and training, including staff supervision experience.
