The Town of Whitewood is accepting applications for the position of Recreation Director. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the CAO. Applicants will communicate the benefits of recreation and importance to co-workers, employees, citizens, community groups and other agencies to create, facilitate and carry out programming of various recreational programs within the community of Whitewood.
The applicant must have Grade 12 or equivalent, experience in similar position, valid driver's license (class 5). Experience considered in lieu of education. Must possess basic computer skills. Have good physical health. Capable of meeting with and working effectively with cultural and sports orientated organizations and the public in general. The ability to prepare written and oral reports for the Town council and for media and facility management. Innovative, able to plan, organize and coordinate programming and projects. Must be prepared to work flexible hours and to perform other duties as assigned. Have a general knowledge of sports facilities. Must possess leadership qualities. Formal training in Parks and Recreation is desirable but not essential. Terms of employment this appointment was made the Whitewood Town Council and that the position involves being directly under the jurisdiction of the CAO and answerable to the CAO and indirectly to the Town Council.
A working knowledge of Sk. OH&S and basic bookkeeping an asset. Must be able to provide a Criminal Records Check.
