Job Description: CAREER OPPORTUNITY  
ADVANCED CARE PARAMEDIC
(1 POSITION 0.75 FTE)

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the Executive Director of Primary Health Care, the incumbent will be required to function as  ACP in a multi-disciplinary setting both in the facility and in the community. The ACP will collaborate with the in-hospital Registered Nurses and other care staff to provide assessment and treatment to ill and injured patients presenting to the Emergency Room. The ACP will provide ALS intercept to a BLS ambulance service as needed and assist with the general needs of the hospital. The ACP will perform all assigned duties safely and productively.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
"    Function as a full scope Advanced Care Paramedic in the hospital,  and community setting
"    Take general accountability for the day-to-day operations of the EMS department while in the Athabasca Basin. Responsibilities will be further outlined during the hiring process.
"    Function within a team of other supervisors to achieve comprehensive department supervision.
"    Be available as an ALS intercept for Road Ambulance
"    Provide support to Home Care and Palliative Care  function in a Community Paramedicine role
"    Ensure employee/client/patient confidentiality at all times
"    Must be able to act as a supervisor;  must be self-directed
"    Perform other duties, as required and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS
"    Graduate of a CMA accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program
"    Unrestricted License from the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics as an Advanced Care Paramedic
"    Valid Class 4 Drivers License
"    Current CPR  HCP, ACLS, PALS / PEPP, ITLS / PHTLS
"    CAMATA Course Preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
"    Ability to fly in small aircraft in all circumstances
"    Knowledge of Dene Culture and Language is an asset
