Description

We currently have an opening for a Transportation Engineer (Junior) in our Saskatoon / Regina offices. You will work mainly on highway construction projects.  You will be an Engineers representative and will be responsible for providing oversite on construction projects either as the sole representative or as a member of a construction team.  This includes, but is not limited to:

    Monitoring the Contractors operations to ensure compliance with contract terms, design specification and drawings
    Monitoring progress and schedules
    Preparing daily and weekly reports
    Maintaining project records and diaries
    Reviewing contractor work procedure submissions
    Monitoring quality control testing
    Onsite surveying and material testing
    Reviewing on-site quantities

Significant travel will be required as part of your regular job duties.  You will be based primarily out of Saskatoon or Regina but will be expected to travel throughout Saskatchewan, including overnight and extended stays.

Position may be located in either our Saskatoon office or Regina office, depending on the home location of the successful candidate.  

What you will bring to the table:    

    Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
    Preference may be given to candidates who have 2 or more years of relevant experience gained in an academic or workplace setting  
    Familiarity with transportation engineering construction on roadways and interchanges, including roadway/bridge/interchange construction and culvert installations  
    Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work independently or in a team setting
    Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills  
    Excellent written communication skills
    Excellent verbal communication skills
    Experience working in the field
    Team player
    Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset
    Possess a valid class 5 driver's license
