Description

Technologists in our Agriculture Services Division provide front-line service to a wide range of stakeholders, including farmers, ranchers, local governments and water management agencies, watershed stewardship groups, irrigation districts, Qualified Persons and firms involved in water management. You will be a contributing team member within one of three areas handling a broad spectrum of water management activities, including project inspections, water supply, municipal/regional water issues, dam structure operations, agricultural drainage, flood protection and responding to water inquiries and complaints.  Every day will be different and challenging.

You will apply your knowledge and gain experience in client service, stakeholder communications, ground and aerial survey techniques, field observation skills, air photo interpretation, provincial legislation, regulations, policy, and related principles, and applicable legal documentation procedures.  In this role, you will proactively interact with Saskatchewan citizens, respond effectively to potentially difficult situations, and build capacity to independently handle complex issues to assist in achieving WSA priorities.

The successful candidate should possess a diploma in Water Resources Engineering Technology or a similar technical discipline, and will have, or will immediately obtain and maintain registration with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (formerly SASTT) as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.) or another relevant Professional Association.

We offer rewarding career opportunities, competitive salaries, and a comprehensive benefits package. To learn more about the work we do and a full scope of duties for this position, visit wsask.ca.
