THE WAKAW RECORDER, located at 128 1st Street South, Wakaw, Saskatchewan S0K 4P0 is hiring an Office Manager. Duties of the job include, administer the day-to-day operations of the office; ensure office systems and procedures are followed, assess and when necessary, implement improvements to systems and procedures; collate information relevant to office management, maintain records and produce regular reports; assign work to and supervise staff, establish work priorities and coordinate with editors, contributors and freelancers; set targets and goals in completing work and ensure that they are met; establish operating budget, budget controls and keep inventory of office equipment and supplies; order office equipment and supplies as needed; oversee expenses and spending; make sure office space is secure and well-maintained; interview, hire and fire positions as needed; oversee production schedules and editorial calendars; correspond with clients and draft estimates and proposals; manage company's website and eCommerce websites; write, copy and monitor and/or edit on line edition and social media posts for all of company's publications; attend editorial meetings and promotional and charitable events.
Job requirements: Attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions; clear communication skills and considerable diplomacy when interacting with staff, writers, editors, freelancers, contributors and clients; ability to manage many different tasks at once; command of the English language; experience with electronic publishing software, web design and multimedia applications; with bachelor's degree; at least 1 year experience in office management.
Employment details: Full-time and permanent; employment start date as soon as possible; wage $26 per hour; 40 hours of work per week; benefits according to federal and provincial labor standards; vacation pay and private health care provided.
