Details:
Candidates will be responsible for full Administrative duties including;
Student management, staff supervision, instructional leadership, leading instructional change, budgeting, and other assigned duties. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required and a background in First Nations Education will be considered an asset. Candidates with a Master's Degree in Education are strongly encouraged to apply.
As the leader of a First Nations school, the Principal will be expected to encourage and ensure that the local cultural traditions, teachings and practices are a part of the education program.
The Principal will be the leader of instructional change for their school and will be expected to lead, foster, encourage and support improvement of the education program on Moosomin First Nation. Moosomin First Nation School has a dedicated team that strives to be the leaders of instructional change for the school and are expected to lead, foster, encourage and support improvement of the education program on Moosomin First Nation.
The successful candidate will possess dynamic leadership skills, be able to work effectively with students, staff and other administrators and will demonstrate a desire to advance his/her leadership through a higher level of education and leadership experiences. It will be important for candidates to be able to:
Lead learning (Instructional Leadership);
Set Vision and provide direction;
Secure caring and respectful schools;
Develop people and build relationships, and
Strengthen the educational community (through working with parents and other agencies)
Candidates are required to possess a masters degree in Educational Administration or related discipline or be committed to completing post-graduate studies in an applicable field. Additionally, they must possess a Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate.
