Job Description: Working within a small multidisciplinary therapies team, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will provide enhanced therapeutic programming for pediatrics and rehabilitation of patients of all ages. The incumbent will deliver OT services through a combination of direct service, community resource development and education during the implementation of subsequent interventions. Duties include: case management, OT assessments, consultations, equipment acquisition and direct therapy to clients. The OT will provide professional leadership in the development and delivery of clinical services, evaluation, and consultation with various programs.

NATURE AND SCOPE

1.Direct Clinical Services
The OT organizes and maintains client caseloads within established standards.
Assesses, treats and evaluates clients based on professional and clinical practice guidelines.
Co-ordinates treatment programs with other members of the team.  
Provides functional assessment of the child within his/her natural environment and establishes base-line and outcome measures to track treatment impact.
Maintains responsibility for coordination of the OT service.
Responsible for upgrading theoretical and clinical knowledge and skills.

2.Consultation
Provide consultation to colleagues, other agencies, and community groups.
Provide leadership within the interdisciplinary team and to individuals involved with children and their families while communicating clearly and effectively across teams and agencies.
Attend and participate in both interdisciplinary and interagency case consultations.
Prepared and able to provide input, opinion and direction.

3.Community Resource Development
Work with resource groups to identify gaps in service, and assist these groups to develop solutions.
