Must be responsible, punctual and physically fit to carry out construction tasks with an eye to efficiency, safety and quality. Must have own vehicle, valid class 5 and cell phone. Own tools required. Must be presentable and personable, willing to interact with clients on a daily basis.
Duties & Responsibilities
Hours of work: - 7-5:30, Monday through Thursday, overtime as warranted.
Ability to work from heights
Must be presentable as per company dress code and grooming standards
Read blueprints or work order specifications to determine layout and installation procedures
Clean and prepare working area
Install metal stud wall & ceiling framing and related blocking
Install wallboard to walls, ceilings & bulkheads and other areas as required
Install suspended ceiling systems (grid and tile) in designed configuration
Tape over joints, using hand tools and/or taping tools (bazooka, corner flushers, flat boxes, etc.)
Mix and apply plaster to desired consistency
Use all equipment effectively, economically, safely, and for its intended use.
Improve job quality by identifying and suggesting improvements.
Notify management of any equipment deficiencies & assist with the maintenance of equipment where required. (Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of basic maintenance & repair for drywall tools)
Comply with safe work practices & protocols (safety training certification preferred)
Keep work area clean
Assist with other duties as required
Minimum 3 years experience minimum as a drywall installer (5 years preferred)
Experience using laser levels
High School Diploma or equivalent is desirable
Knowledge of general construction methods and practices
Mechanically inclined, familiarity with hand tools and construction equipment.
Solid organization and problem solving skills.
Valid Saskatchewan class 5 license & cell phone required
