Description

Con-Tech General Contractors, is looking to add an energetic Heavy Equipment Operator to our growing company. This candidate will be a part of an effective construction team that successfully completes projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable codes while maintaining high quality, safe and effective operation of various pieces of equipment and a safe workplace. Con-Tech takes pride in promoting a team approach to ensuring that our projects are completed on time, on budget and with exceptional quality.
Responsibilities
    Operates heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to relevant legislation, policies, procedures and work plans
    Performs daily safety and maintenance checks
    Cleans heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
    Advises Superintendent or maintenance department of any requirements for maintenance or repair
    Participates in routine fueling and maintenance
    Practices workplace safety
    May perform other related duties as required
    Heavy Equipment operation must include Excavator and Dozer
Qualifications
    2+ years experience in Excavator and Dozer a must.
    Previous water/sewer experience is an asset
    Must be able to interpret grade stakes, clear, strip, excavate, backfill, ditch, and stockpile
    Able to cut and spread material
    Able to grade to final grade and finish slopes
    Able to perform surface and drainage maintenance
    Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    Effective verbal and listening communication skills
    Adheres to company Health, Safety, & Environmental reporting and standard assessments
    Must be a team player
    a valid 1A drivers license an asset
    Ground Disturbance II an asset
    WHMIS 2015
