Support Workers are a part of a team providing services in a community based setting working with adults with mental health diagnoses.
Duties and responsibilities include assisting residents in the skills of daily living & medication management, organizing & participating in recreational activities, conducting groups in life skills & health teaching. The Support Worker must act as a positive role model to residents & treat everyone with fairness, honesty & respect.
Support Workers must be willing & able to provide First Aid/CPR. They must be able to take a proactive approach & provide appropriate responses to residents disclosing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, hallucinations, delusions or other symptoms & challenging behaviors. Hours of work are Monday-Friday, 8:30-5pm. The qualifications: a combination of relevant education & work experience in the human services field. Must possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle. Start date August 3, 2021.
