Description

2 for the Lodge, rotational 10 hrs (8:00 a.m.  6:00 p.m.) 90 hrs per month
    1 for Land Based Camp, rotational (1 week on/off  must be able to stay at camp M-F)
    1 casual

Leading Thunderbird Lodge is a residential youth treatment facility located at Fort San, SK in the QuAppelle Valley.  The Lodge offers a 12-week holistic and culturally based addiction and mental health treatment program for Indigenous male youth between the ages of 12-17 years.  The Lodge will be re-opening in October 2021 and is looking to hire self-motivated and culturally aware Cooks to join their team.  

POSITION DESCRIPTION
    Creating monthly meal plans
    Provide daily meals for youth and staff based on the Canada Food Guide/First Nation Food Guide
    Daily cleaning and disinfection of kitchen/dining area counters, tables, floors
    Ordering of food and supplies as required based on meal plans or pending activities/events
    Provide nutritional awareness workshops for youth
    Provide basic meal preparation workshops for youth
    Planning and cooking for special events (graduations, birthdays, meetings, etc.)
    Completion of required reports and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS
    Grade 12 or equivalent
    Certificate in Cooking
    Valid Safe Food Handling certificate
    Valid Drivers License
    Understanding of First Nations National Food Guide
    Experience with traditional food preparation (feasts, sweats)
    Experience cooking outdoors would be an asset (for land-based camp)
    Computer skills would be an asset
    First Aid/CPR/AED, ASIST, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Safe Food Handling training would be an asset
    Applicants must also lead an addictions free lifestyle in promoting personal wellness
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in working with youth
