The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires Youth Workers and individuals interested in a scheduled Relief Position for our Drop In Centre scheduled shifts will include Every Monday and Saturday 1pm-9m. The ability to pick up more shifts on a casual is available with this position.
EGADZ is an inter-agency, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services for hard to serve youth in Saskatoon with the mission to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life.
This position is within EGADZ Youth Centre for the Drop-In responsible for the daily operations of the Center and assisting the youth who hang out. Responsibilities vary from building trusting relations with youth to advocating and providing immediate services for the youth including nutrition, clothing, and referrals for issues they require assistance with in Saskatoon. The ideal candidate will be able to organize and participate in sport, recreation and cultural activities with the youth both in the centre and in the community.
Qualifications:
Post secondary education in the human services field, equivalent experience or a combination of both
Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff and partnering agencies and maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
Working knowledge of computers/windows
Knowledge of Aboriginal and cultures and issues
Must have a valid drivers license that reflects a safe driving record - A Driver's Abstract is Required (Within 3 Months).
Criminal records Check (Within 6 Months)
Ability to work shift work is a must-days/evenings/nights as well as weekends
Salaries are based on EGADZ current salary grid. Starting wage is $18.07
