Applicants are invited to apply for a new permanent full-time Medical Physicist position with the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA).  The successful candidate will be located at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre (SCC) in Saskatoon, SK and report directly to the Director of Medical Physics.
The SCA provides a comprehensive cancer control program for the people of Saskatchwan delivering cancer services such as prevention, early detection, treatment and research. The Agency operates two cancer centres, the ABCC in Regina and the SCC.
The SCC and ABCC provide radiation oncology services for approximately 2,400 patients annually.  The equipment complement across the two Centres include Siemens Confidence CT simulators, TrueBeam and iX linear accelerators, orthovoltage units and HDR remote afterloaders. Treatment planning software suite includes Eclipse, RadCalc, Mobius and Oncentra. The SCA has adopted the ARIA record and verify system for the implementation of an electronic medical record.
The Medical Physicists are responsible for managing all physical aspects related to patients treatment so far as to enable the accurate delivery of radiotherapy treatments in a safe, cost effective and expedient manner. In addition, Medical Physicists assess new techniques and equipment for clinical efficacy and plan for resource allocation in collaboration with the radiation oncology, radiation therapy, and leadership teams.
All applicants must have a postgraduate degree in Medical Physics or a related field and be eligible as fellows or members of the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine. Candidates interested in clinical program research and development related to SRS, SBRT and adaptive radiotherapy techniques are desirable. Medical imaging, interstitial Brachytherapy and treatment planning and delivery technique development are additional clinical areas of interest.
