Were also looking at whats next for you and how we can help you build a career youre proud of. As a Buyer for our Saskatoon District, you will contribute to our team by:

Purchasing materials/assets and services as advised and in accordance with policies and procedures
Identifying and selecting vendors to purchase requisitioned consumables. Clear understanding of Best Value.
Developing general commodity knowledge by working with procurement Subject Matter Experts,  using supplier resources, and varied acquisition assignments
Applying relevant purchasing/supply agreements to daily purchases.
Crafting and issuing appropriate purchase documents; coordinating these agreements throughout their term
Proactively expediting and following up on all aspects of the entire purchasing process with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve material discrepancies, outstanding or overdue deliveries, warranty claims, and return of material
Ensuring that all purchases are conducted ethically and legally according to district/company policies
Developing and maintaining constructive and collaborative, and customer focused working relationships with suppliers, internal and external customers, and projects
Identifying and evaluating potential risks that could affect project results

What you will bring to the role:

Postsecondary diploma/degree in a related field an asset
1 year of experience in supply chain/procurement preferred
Basic construction knowledge
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced business environment
Basic negotiating skills and awareness of when to use them
Basic understanding of supply chain process
Ability to develop and maintain effective partner relationships
Experience using Microsoft Office software.
