Nakoda Oyade Education Centre/School (NOEC) is seeking a Head of Maintenance for the upcoming school year. Head of Maintenance will be responsible for maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe school facility.  In addition to providing adequate arrangements for meetings, classroom activities/events, minimizing property damages ensuring that duties are completed in a safe proper and timely manner.  This position reports to the Director of Education and is responsible for supervision of custodian staff in collaboration with NOEC School Administration.  Responsible for year round maintenance of the building and grounds of the Education Centre, Facility Operations of the Building and grounds. Directs personnel as assigned for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the workforce and meeting shift requirements. Procures equipment supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability and inventory of required items and completing job efficiency. Repairs furniture, equipment and facilities for the purpose of ensuring that items and facilities are available and in safe working order. Secures facilities and grounds for the purpose of minimizing property damage, loss and liability and ensuring safety at the work site (unlock & lock doors, check windows, operate heating plant and equipment).Maintains Heating/Cooling systems, clock system, alarm systems, records of repair, estimates time materials and work records. Operates floor polishers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, floor strippers, waxers, lawn mowers, edgers, snow equipment and all hand & power tools.
Maintains and ensures the School vehicles are cleaned and kept in good working order and performs other duties as assigned.
