Sask Pork is seeking an energetic communicator with a passion for food and agriculture to join our team. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of the organizations overall industry communication and marketing strategy that includes:
- Creating print/TV/radio advertising content and messaging to promote pork and maintain the industry's positive public image. This will include working with outside media salespeople and evaluating advertising opportunities
- Collaborating with and supporting members of the Sask Pork team in editing and designing key communications resources for various audiences including newsletters, media releases, annual reports, business letters, brochures, articles, manuals, speaking notes and backgrounders
- Maintaining and updating Sask Pork Website
- Planning and executing the organizations social media strategy, including content development (Facebook /Twitter /Instagram)
- Planning and logistics for in-person and virtual meetings, industry events, tradeshows, webinars and workshops
- Participating in national/provincial communications working groups & agricultural awareness groups that monitor current issues and topics important to the industry including attending meetings and events
- Establishment of an annual communications/marketing plan & budget
Experience and Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field (communications, public relations, marketing).
- Minimum 5 years related work experience
- High level of computer proficiency, with experience with desktop publishing programs (i.e. Adobe Indesign or QuarkXPress) and Microsoft office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word)
- Proficiency in English
- Class 5 drivers license
- Superior interpersonal skills with a high degree of organization and ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience in graphic & web design or a willingness to learn
- Prior experience in an agricultural or agri-food setting would be an asset
