Responsibilities:
-Manage and maintain the Exploration Department Library, including cataloguing, classification, indexing, digitization of physical copies and sorting of internal/external reports, raw data, scientific books, journals, government documents, etc.
-Liaise with team for collection priorities, document control and change management
-Maintain and develop the Exploration SharePoint site. Assist the team in using SharePoint via weekly updates, presentations and providing assistance
-Work with the IS Department to develop, maintain, and improve the SharePoint site and implement changes, including, system upgrades
-Import and maintain documents in land database (Landfolio)
-Research and retrieve company documents from the Archives/Library
-Research using knowledge of library-industry specific and exploration/mining-industry specific resources (Internet and print reference tools, electronic journal article databases, library catalogue search engines)
-Order materials as required (books, theses, papers, government reports, maps, microfiche, journal articles)
-Provide guidance to work placement students and other library support staff
-Liaise with other document control team members by providing technical advice, streamlining document sharing protocols and share company-wide good practices and standards
-Propose recommendations, create templates and procedures to improve efficiency and standards for proper archiving, indexing, safekeeping and use of the Exploration materials
Skills and Qualifications:
-Basic knowledge of geology, exploration and/or mining operations is considered an asset
-Completed the Library and Information Technology diploma program or equivalent
-Proficiency in French is very useful
-Strong organization and time management skills, particularly in terms of data and document organization and filing
-Required to work independently
