Description

Construction contractor located in Saskatoon has an opening for an accountant/bookkeeper.
  
Job Requirements:  

Completed accounting diploma, degree and/or equivalent work experience.
A solid understanding of accounting principles, full-cycle accounting, budgeting, cash flow and financial statements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and Outlook
Experience with SAGE software is an asset
Able to manage and deal with stress all the while maintaining positive relationships and ensuring the accurate, complete, and on-time delivery of desired outcomes

Job duties:  

Process accounts payable.
Enter invoices into accounting software and run cheques to pay bills.
Issue and monitor billings.
Pay invoices and ensure bills are paid in timely manner
Record day to day transactions.
Contact customers with past due invoices. Collect revenue by reminding delinquent accounts, notifying customers of insufficient payments
Collect employee time sheets and enter into payroll accounting system. Verify pay amounts, hours of work etc.
Process and run payroll cheques
Prepare bank deposits
Reconcile company's monthly bank statements
Reconcile and monitor credit card payments
Maintain the petty cash fund
Create financial statements
Prepare GST and PST remittances and process payment to government.
Prepare T-4s.
Administer benefits package.
Complete and submit payroll and tax remittances
Complete and submit worker compensation forms and other government documents
Assist external accountant on tax return preparation for company
Run regular reports to keep owners apprised of cash flow, budgeting, and other vital financial matters.
Administrative duties
Other duties as required.
