The instructor will work as part of a team dedicated to the success of students registered in our First Nations Child Care Program.
Additional responsibilities include:
Prepare lesson plans and appropriate planning documents for course delivery.
Incorporate current technology advancements within instruction and administration where applicable.
Complete all course-required materials including attendance records and course evaluations.
Use appropriate methods of evaluating and recording student progress within set time frames.
Ensure a positive, diverse and inclusive work and learning environment.
Adhere to and promote academic regulations and SIIT policies and procedures.
Maintain classroom discipline and, if necessary, recommend action to applicable supervisor regarding student behavior, including formal student disciplinary action.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor of Education or Child and Youth Care Degree from an accredited institution.
3 years teaching experience.
Knowledge in the area of early childhood education.
Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations.
A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered
A satisfactory criminal records check is a required as a condition of employment
The accrediting institute for this program is SIIT, the successful candidate must meet the accrediting institutes requirements.
