Position Overview:
As the Support for Older Adults Worker your strong experience with client support work and trauma aware, strength-based practice will ensure excellent coordination of elder abuse education, supports and services and demonstrate your commitment to work that strengthens and empowers older adults. Working independently, you will exhibit excellent time management, ability to prioritize and fulfill programs objectives, use excellent communication and rapport building skills to build strong working relationships with vulnerable individuals and stakeholders.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Develop and maintain an active Support for Older Adults program & caseload. Provide individual support, case management services and facilitate referrals for older adults experiencing situations of elder abuse. Coordinate community services response for those impacted by elder abuse, facilitating effective collaboration of services to increase safety and well being. Provide education and programming that promotes protective factors and increases older adults safety, connection, and wellbeing. Build elder abuse prevention knowledge and promote steps for positive action with service providers and community stakeholders. A post- secondary education in a Human Services or related field and experience working with vulnerable populations, older adults/families are essential with a solid understanding of interpersonal violence, elder abuse, and trauma-sensitive care. A valid drivers license and clean driving record is mandatory.
