Child Care Worker  Baby Steps
The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires a Childcare Worker interested in casual shifts providing a safe supportive environment with the Baby Steps Program for children while offering mother's support, structure, and guidance in their attempt to regain custody of their child(ren) in care.
Baby Steps believes that the parent must be involved in case plans involving their children and their own personal needs to have long term success. Baby Steps must follow the Youth Centered Continuum of Care when dealing with the parent as it involves; buy in, citizenship, and the need of government and non government agencies to work together in a real partnership teaching various skills that provide concrete outcomes for mother and child.

EGADZ is an inter-agency, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services for hard to serve youth in Saskatoon with the mission to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life.
Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education or post secondary education in the human services field, equivalent experience or a combination of both
Previous practical experience with children and youth is required
Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff and partnering agencies
Knowledge of other agencies and resources within our community
Basic knowledge of nutrition and values
Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
Working knowledge of computers (Windows)
Knowledge of Aboriginal culture
A good understanding of EGADZ and our mission
Training in CPR and ASIST (ASIST training within the first 6 months of employment)
Must have a valid drivers license that reflects a safe driving record - a driver's abstract will be required.
Criminal Record Check
Shift work is required including days, evenings, and weekends.
