Description

Position and Responsibilities
Cameco is looking for skilled safety professionals to join the McArthur River operation. Working with the health and safety team, you will be responsible for providing safety support for project work including:          
    Providing safety training (e.g. Respirator Protection, Respirator Fit Tests, Control of Hazardous Energy)
    Chairing job hazard analyses (JHAs), evaluating the safety risks and controls
    Completing inspections and reviewing field level risk assessments to help ensure workers are adhering to safe work plans and safety standards  
    Completing incident reporting, investigations, and supporting the development and implementation of corrective actions resulting from incident reviews
    Completing critical safety monitoring and permitting including Hot Work Permits and Confined Space Permits
    Developing effective working relationships with other groups and departments
    Participate in the mine rescue/emergency response team

Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
    Diploma in occupational health and safety, or relevant technology
    Five to eight years of relevant work experience
    Experience providing critical safety training programs, conducting Job Hazard Analyses, and incident management
    Valid certification in mine rescue
    Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
    Work on surface and underground
    Willing to work a 14-day rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
    Canadian registered safety professional (CRSP) or equivalent designation
    Advanced first aid certificate
    Qualified emergency response instructor
