Duties:
- Provides daily guidance and leadership to Support Workers, through coaching, role modelling, and motivating in order to support residents to live their fullest potential in the least restrictive and most supportive environment of their choice.
- Liaises with each residents family, and support network, in the development and actualization of the residents person-centered plan, including their care plan.
- Monitors household maintenance to ensure staff and resident safety.
- Develops, coordinates and facilitates a variety of community-based individual and/or small group activities related to recreation, social and leisure, education, volunteerism, and transportation.
- Provides personal and intimate care (e.g., feeding, toileting, transferring, and dressing) for residents, as required.
- Administers medications to residents and maintains required documentation.
- Emphasizes and promotes SaskAbilities philosophy that focuses on improving the quality of life for all residents.
Qualifications:
- Certificate or diploma in related field (e.g., Therapeutic Recreation, Continuing Care, Disability Support Worker, etc.).
- Certifications: First Aid/CPR/AED Level C; Food Handler.
- Training: Transfer, Lift and Repositioning; Professional Assault Response (PART);
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS); Medication Administration.
- Class 5 Drivers Licence & reliable vehicle.
- Experience in providing, and training staff in providing, personal and intimate care and medication administration.
The final candidates are required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
Successful candidates are recommended to have an Auto Pak with at least 1 million dollars in liability insurance.
