Parkland College is currently accepting applications for an Instructor for the Essential Skills - Tiny House Duplex Program. This course is a total of 86 days and is delivered at Pasqua First Nations.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Coordinator, this position is primarily responsible for developing, coordinating, delivering and facilitating the classroom and practical carpentry component of the Essential Skills program, including construction of a Tiny House Duplex project. The program goal is to help build workforce skills within participants.
QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum educational qualification for this position is a relevant two-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent or a journeyperson trade certificate. Journeyperson Carpentry status is preferred.
The minimum amount of practical, related experience required to perform the duties of this position is five years. This experience would typically support skills required to provide students fundamental carpentry instructions, to effectively liaise with employers or external partners, and to develop needs based approaches to delivery within programming.
Demonstrated experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
Demonstrated experience handling sensitive issues.
