Our Environmental Services team acts as a regulatory body focusing on municipal and privately-owned waterworks and sewage works to ensure facilities achieve the provincial standards for drinking water and wastewater effluent quality. We are searching for an enthusiastic individual to join a team of technical and professional staff performing this important work.
As a member of the team some of the duties you will be responsible for are to provide technical advice and expertise to stakeholders specific to the operation, maintenance and monitoring of water and wastewater treatment facilities with a primary focus on ensuring safe drinking water supplies for Saskatchewan residents.
This employee will undertake facility inspections and conducts water quality tests, providing guidance and expertise to plant operators to ensure compliant operations and to help diagnose problems and find suitable solutions. You will also respond to and provide advice in the event of water and/or wastewater works related upsets, emergencies or disease outbreaks and conducts formal investigations, contributes to the development of drinking water and wastewater related external policies and internal and external operational protocols.
The successful candidate should possess a degree in natural or physical sciences, environmental or civil engineering, integrated environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, or physics; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
This candidate is to have 3 years experience and must possess or be eligible to obtain a Level 2 Water Treatment and Level 2 Water Distribution Operators Certificate or have successfully completed a Level 2 Water Treatment and Level 2 Water Distribution Course and Exam.
