Job Description: The LTC Nurse Educator provides development initiatives and leadership in the following spheres of nursing: clinical practice, education, research, and quality improvement.  This position integrates skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning in the provision of direct patient care, clinical coordination, clinical problem-solving, education and research for a defined group of patients and/or programs; and reports to the Director of Long Term Care. The incumbent is self-directed and requires minimum supervision.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
Experience
-    Requires a minimum of three to five years nursing experience in a LTC and/or community setting
-    Previous experience in nursing education
-    Demonstrates teaching skills specifically post RN/RPN courses
-    Understands the nursing process and principles of adult learning
-    Demonstrates basic computer skills applicable to LTC
-    Experience in developing programs/resources for staff in the areas of planning, implementation, quality monitoring and evaluation
-    Familiarity with Lean principles
