Description

Yorkton is a growing, vibrant city of 20,000, serving as the retail and hub for more than 200,000 people. As Saskatchewans third largest trading area, Yorkton has many large city amenities and yet provides the quality of life of a smaller community.

The successful candidate will be personable and outgoing, and possess a knack for developing strong relationships. You will work closely with our local business owners and prospective business clients, fostering an environment to help them realize growth and achieve sustainability.  You will represent the City as an administrative ambassador, serving as the principal staff liaison to the Economic Development Committee Yorkton Business Improvement District, Yorkton Chamber of Commerce and Parkland College.  

Responsibilities:
-Create strategies to help retain existing businesses and to help them achieve sustainability.
-Secure funding for economic development activities and programs.
-Convey information relating to City policies, procedures and bylaws.
-Develop resources to support, implement, and monitor effective marketing strategies.  
-Develop and manage programs and services to foster business investment.
-Work with various City departments and governmental agencies to enhance customer service for ratepayers.
-Analyze economic and business development opportunities and create strategies to pursue these opportunities.  
-Connect prospective business with senior government
-Develop and maintain active contact with other business and economic development organizations and government agencies in order to stay up-to-date with current programs and services.

Qualifications
-Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Public Relations
-Certification in Economic Development Association of Canada
