Golden West has been connecting communities for over 60 years. We are proud to tell local stories on CJ1150, Sun 102, Rock 106 and Discover Estevan.

We are looking for a News Reporter/Play-by-Play Announcer to join our team.

The News Reporter/Play-by-Play Announcer will:
    Gather local stories: You will listen for the questions people in Estevan are asking. Then you will find leads, interview sources, and verify information along the way.
    Craft content: You will write radio and digital news stories, prepare photo galleries, and edit videos.
    Deliver news broadcasts: You will record and edit news reports for CJ1150, Sun 102, and Rock 106.
    Play-by-Play Announcing for the Estevan Bruins. This position will require occasional travel for away games.

You should apply if you:
    Are passionate about storytelling and have a knack for finding what matters most to the audience
    Have excellent writing skills. Bonus points for digital writing experience or knowledge of Canadian Press standards
    Are comfortable editing photos using Photoshop or other photo editing software
    Know or are willing to learn basic audio and video editing
    Love sports and are excited about announcing for an SJHL team
    Have a strong attention to detail
    Enjoy both independent and collaborative work
    Working knowledge of social media
    Are tech savvy and committed to constantly honing your skills
