Description

Reporting to the Project Coordinator for PTRCs Aquistore project, you will be responsible for:


Monitoring and troubleshooting equipment to assure their continual operations:  geophones and a geophone array, fibre optic cables, GPS receivers, seismic monitoring stations, solar panels.

Ordering of batteries and additional equipment to keep the various technologies in good condition

Tracking and marking cables and buried geophones

Assuring the proper maintenance of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and truck (F-350 Dually) used to gain access to the field site    

Using software, computers, and specialized equipment

Downloading data being recorded through continuously operating equipment at site, and scattered across a 5 km by 5 km square location, including seismic data

Using software, computers, and specialized equipment during such maintenance

An Ideal Candidate Will be living near or in the Estevan area, and have:

Experience in oil and gas, mining or a related discipline  particularly field operations like seismic acquisition, monitoring of wells and equipment maintenance

Experience with Geospace software, or a willingness to learn

A valid drivers license, and experience driving an ATV and F-350 Dually vehicle

Experience or an awareness of geophones, GPS receivers, batteries for operating such devices

Ability to work independently with no supervision in all weather conditions

Mechanical knowledge of vehicles and oil field operations

Strong computer skills, with a preference for software used in oil field operations such as well monitoring and maintenance

Emergency first aid training (or a willingness to be trained)

Successful candidate will be required to take a SaskPower safety training exam and in person training course

Total hours per month will vary between 40 and 80, with more hours possible during peak monitoring periods
