Pasqua First Nation Education Authority is accepting applications effective immediately for three (3) Saskatchewan qualified teachers for the 2021-2022 school year. These Student Success Teachers will serve our student achievement and success program. The CPEC Student Success Teachers will be assigned to work with parents/guardians, classroom teachers, special education coordinator, student success coach and in-school administration to develop Student Success Plans for each and every student registered at CPEC. In recognition of the academic challenges posed during the last school year, our goal is to support student achievement, particularly in literacy, numeracy and positive self-concept as successful learners. Depending upon the combined skills of the Student Success Teachers, assignments may be organized into Early Years (Pre-K to Grade 3), Middle Years (Grade 6-9) and generalist to support Art Programming, Art Therapy and Land Based Learning. Indigenous content, perspectives and ways of knowing are foundationally integrated throughout all CPEC programming.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To holistically nurture, support and guide learners for academic achievement & life success;
To demonstrate excellent instructional ability, including differentiation, 21st century learning skills, environmental, technology-assisted learning, assessment for learning & Community Education philosophy;
To excel in pro-social, respectful classroom management strategies;
To establish strong home/school connections and establish regular communication with students families;
To participate, and potentially lead, professional development and training throughout the school year;
To value & respect Indigenous ways of knowing resulting in positive identity development within our students.
To comply and contribute to health and wellness by adhering to the PFN Education Authority direction and Pasqua First Nation Human Resources Policy.
