The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Energy Division is seeking a Research Engineer to join the Process Development Business Unit.
Accountabilities
Develop, manage, and execute projects related to alternative energy, energy storage, microgrid systems, climate stations and remote sensor networks
Participate in the design, implementation and troubleshooting of embedded systems and industrial automation including data analysis and programming
Contribute to reports, proposals, project plans and other supporting documentation
Assist with developing business opportunities in a highly technical field
Qualifications
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electrical engineering or engineering physics and eligible for your professional engineering (P.Eng) designation
Minimum of five years industry experience, preferably in the renewable energy area
Proficient in Excel, PLC programming and multiple programming languages which can include C, C++, CRBasic, SQL, Java, Matlab and Python
Experience working at remote sites handling system installation, troubleshooting and monitoring
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work efficiently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including clients and project teams
Adaptable with a willingness to continuously expand technical capabilities into new areas
Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
