Description

Valley Action Abilities is a community based organization in Rosthern that provides supports for adults with intellectual disabilities.

We are currently seeking direct care workers that will be responsible to provide individualized support to the residents in one of our three community group homes.

We are looking for positive upbeat staff who can help our residents reach their goals and contribute to a great quality of life for everyone we serve.

Our group homes house between 4 and six residents each. Our staff work a mixture of shifts including some nights and weekends. Our focus is on creating warm welcoming home environments

Duties:

1. Provide support to the residents in our group homes by helping them to achieve their identified goals .

2. Provide physical supports including food preparation, personal hygiene and other forms of physical care.

3. Medication assistance when needed.

4. Completing daily electronic documentation.

5. Care and maintenance of the homes.

Previous experience and training is valued, but we also offer a full range of training and orientation that can be gained while on the job.  
A clear criminal records/vulnerable sector check is needed to apply.  

A valid drivers license is an asset.
