Description

The team player we are seeking reports directly to the Public Works Foreman. The position involves duties relating to general maintenance, operation and service of municipal equipment and infrastructure and may include operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater systems.

Qualifications required are;

    Grade 12 education or GED
    Valid class 5 drivers license (accompanied by drivers abstract)
    Operation of equipment to a high degree of quality, including but not limited to a grader and tractor
    A minimum of three years equipment operation and road maintenance experience would be a definite asset
    Possess good public relation skills and be self-motivated
    Ability to work in an outdoor environment - heat, cold dry, dusty and/or wet

General Duties;

    Mowing
    Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment
    Perform labour duties associated with, but not limited to, culvert and sign installations, road patching, grass and yard maintenance, water and sewer line repairs and maintenance.
    Everyday plus weekend work may be required
    Duties to be assigned by foreman
    30-40 hours a week that includes water testing, hours dependent on as needed basis.
