Description

North Fringe Industrial Technologies Inc is expanding its Operators for our Dredge and Dewatering Crew. This position is seasonal and location and length of work is job dependent. Schedule is normally 10-12 hrs/day.  These positions occur seasonally on an annual basis, and has potential for other opportunities

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Operation of cutter-head dredge and diesel engine pumps
Must be able to travel to sites and stay on site for periods of time. Accommodations provided.
Prepare sites/location for dredge/dewatering job
Insures safe and proper operation of all dredge related equipment, and maintains radio contact with lead man
Performs routine inspections and assists in preventative maintenance, and repair on dredge related equipment directed by supervisor
Be able to operate a workboat with an outboard motor.
Ability to work with minimum supervision or under the direction of a supervisor.
Meet all production standards to perform the job safely and efficiently  

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Safety Training an Asset
Skilled in the operation of hand tools and small power tools
Experience with Pump, machinery and Asset
Works well and efficiently unsupervised and with a team
Mechanically knowledgeable with machinery and engines
Capable of working in all weather conditions, and around water and be able to safely perform the duties while operating a dredge
Ability to perform basic logging and documenting
The physical demands of climbing, balancing, sitting, stooping, and lifting is necessary to perform the essential functions of this job.
May be required to work extended hours, shift work, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications and Experience:

Trade or Technical schooling a plus
Two (2) years of experience relating to operation of heavy machinery
Welding and torch cutting skills a plus
Ability to work outdoors, hands on environment: 1 year
Heavy Equipment Operator: 1 year
