Description

The YMCA of Regina is hiring Beyond the Bell Staff! Beyond the Bell is an after-school program targeted to youth that are in Grades 1-6, which focuses on: enhancing numeracy and literacy, developing leadership skills, skill- building through recreation, and healthy lifestyles. This program runs Monday-Friday from 3:00- 6:00 PM. We want to hire staff who are invested in youth, and see this type of job as more than just a paycheck. Beyond the Bell Duties:
-Responsible for supervising and mentoring children enrolled in Beyond the Bell
-Building healthy and trusting relationships with students, families, teachers and school administration
-Executing fun, safe programming which is focused on the needs/ interests of children in the program
-Contribute to lesson planning
-Providing effective leadership to groups, with the ability to address challenging  behavioural dynamics in children and in groups

Required Skills:
-Experience working with youth, ability to lead groups
-Demonstrated ability to be a positive role model, mentor and authentic leader
-Proven ability to build relationships
- Willingness to learn
- Self- motivated, be able to work independently and part of a team
-Experience in lesson/ program planning with the working knowledge of a multitude of "back pocket" resources
-Must be able to obtain a Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
- Knowledge of literacy and numeracy programs is an asset
-First Aid & CPR accreditation needed (can be provided within 3 months of hire)
