Description

Reporting to the CEO of the Buffalo Narrows Economic Development Corporation (BNEDC), the Community Economic Development Officer is responsible for the effective management of economic development activities of BNEDC and will:
Build positive working relationships and partnerships with stakeholder groups, business community, First Nations, federal, local and provincial governments to promote and enable businesses to locate and expand in the community of Buffalo Narrows
Prepare and update the Community Profile and Economic Profile as well as the annual business plan
Implement the BNEDC branding and marketing strategy through the preparation and dissemination of promotion materials
Prepare, implement and monitor economic development strategies, work plans and budgets to promote sustainable economic development
Identify, gather and analyze market indicators to set, measure and monitor economic development activities
Provide information, expert advice, support and general direction to businesses, investors, social profit agencies

Acceptable Competencies:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).  Degree in urban and regional planning, community development, economic development, engineering, economics, marketing, or related discipline preferred
In lieu of a degree, solid experience in management in business, local government or regional organization with a job focus on program administration, problem solving or local economic or community development mandatory
Overall background and demonstrated capacities for effective communications, project development/project management and proven accomplishment and performance
3-5 years marketing, economic development, or community development experience
Able to prepare operating, capital and equipment budgets
Ability to work in a computerized environment
Able to communicate effectively
