Description

The Buffalo Narrows Economic Development Corporation (BNEDC), located in the beautiful northern village of Buffalo Narrows, is seeking a full-time Chef Manager to join our team and play a critical leadership role at our new restaurant scheduled to open this summer. The start date is June 21, 2021. The Chef Manager is accountable for overall success of the daily kitchen operations. Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead kitchen operations, by exhibiting culinary talents, personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related items, and be responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports.
-Ensure exceptional customer service, by working to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance in areas of responsibility.
-Ensure culinary standards, by supervising all kitchen area to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced.
-Ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.

Qualifications:
Four (4) to six (6) years experience as a Chef/Lead Cook
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Formal Culinary Education required
Experience successfully handling a diverse group of employees.
Experience leading both Front and Back of House teams
Excellent culinary skills- possesses the ability to perform all functions in the culinary operation.
Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
Experience in menu composition
Experience in inventory management and ordering
Experience with maintaining kitchen equipment.
Work with modern appliances and other technical equipment.
Workers usually must withstand the pressure and strain of working in close quarters, standing for hours at a time, lifting heavy items and maintain caution of potential workplace safety hazards.

Safe Food Handling Course
HACCP Training
WHMIS
First Aid
