Job Description: As a valued Employee of SHA, the nurse has responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive client care.  The registered nurse is a competent clinical practitioner assisting individuals, groups and families with health-care needs ranging from uncomplicated to complex and rapidly changing status.  As a professional the general duty nurse demonstrates a caring approach, including an understanding of the nursing process, a conceptual model for practice and SHA philosophy, objectives and standards.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years recent related nursing experience is required. Community nursing experience and the utilization of Electronic Medical Records are considered assets.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in applying the nursing process
Ability to perform the functions of the position, after unit orientation and training for certifiable skills

NOTE: This is a Provincial Posting and is open to all SUN members within the bargaining unit as per Articles 27.02 and 27.05 of the SUN Collective Bargaining Agreement. First preference will be given to employees of the SKHA (Saskatoon) and its affiliated agencies.
