Description

Lafarge is recruiting up to two Heavy Duty Mechanics for permanent positions located at our Saskatoon location.
Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for equipment used in all areas of the operation. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Lafarge Canada in Saskatoon, you will be responsible for:
-    Preventative maintenance service
-    General equipment and vehicle repairs
-    Maintain paper and electronic records
-    Diagnose and repair equipment and vehicle deficiencies
-    Maintain shop equipment
-    In field equipment service and repair.

Accountabilities

-    General safety in and around equipment and operating plant
-    Reporting unsafe job sites and procedures
-    Maintain a positive image to the customers and the general public
-    Ability to plan work and self-direct
-    Ability to work in fast-paced environment

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

-    Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Mechanic or 4th year apprentice
-    Class 3A license preferred
-    Experience with Cat E.T. and S.I.S.

-    Able to read and understand schematics
-    Diagnose and repair hydraulics and electrical systems
-    Use of computer-aided diagnosis tools
-    Diagnose and repair engine related issues
-    Diagnose and repair powertrain issues
-    Ability to read and complete work orders
-    Ability to perform small welding repairs
-    Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) safety inspection number preferred
-    Ability to work with minimal supervision
-    Ability to work overtime and shift work as needed
-    Ability to work out side

The working environment is indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol testing required.
Must have own hand tools.
