Relay Education uses STEM based learning in all of our programs, to educate students about science curriculum-linked topics, such as electricity, energy resources & conservation, and career building. This role will work primarily with students in elementary and secondary students in classrooms or online across Saskatchewan to deliver renewable energy education and green collar career workshops in schools; market the programming to schools and teachers and maintain workshop equipment and supplies.
This role is partially funded through funding from ECO Canada. Applicants must be:
Between the ages of 15 to 30 years as of the start of the placement.
A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection in Canada.
Legally able to work in Canada according to relevant laws and regulations of the province or territory of residence.
Currently un- or under-employed.
The successful candidate will:
Work with Relay Education staff to coordinate the charitys programming in Regina, Saskatoon, and rural areas within the province;
Communicate with teachers and educators in Saskatchewan to register and evaluate workshops;
Cultivate and maintain partnerships with regional government agencies, corporate donors and sponsors;
Deliver renewable energy STEM and environmental career awareness workshops online and in person as possible (dependent on COVID restrictions) to schools and for community groups as needed. This includes preparing for workshops in advance, travel to workshop sites as necessary and setting up all supplies and equipment;
Represent RELAY Education in outreach / community festival events throughout the year
Ensure education equipment is adequately stocked, sanitized, and maintained;
